Having a male, I think it's best to let them "drain out" on your walks!! It's part of being a male.

I'm not sure if he wanted to hike on something and you not letting him.. I wonder if he would hike inside..?

My male is naughty and has hiked his leg on my kitchen cabinets right in front of me. He hasn't done that in a long time, but I notice when I let him mark outside on walks he is in a better mood and less accidents in the house.
