I also agree that de-clawing is so cruel. I didn't see where the OP mentioned de-clawing, and hope my post wasn't taken that I suggest it in any way. But rather, kittens have to learn to use their claws, and they do through play and discovery. By the time they are old enough to even de-claw they are usually past the worst stage of development as far as play and discovery so it seems counter productive anyways. For a couple of months during their development, they are relentless at attacking anything and everything and climbing your legs, furniture, curtains, etc. As much as I love cats and kittens, I'd much rather adopt a cat that was 9-10 months old because I'd rather go through 10 puppy stages to 1 kitten stage. The only option that is better than one kitten, is 2 kittens so they can play on equal terms with each other rather than use you as their prey. Ha ha, good luck with that one.
