Hi there,

Although my Troy did not have necrotizing encephalitis, he did have Granulomatous meningoencephalitis (GME). Unfortunately, there isn't a cure and the disease progressively gets worse. How he got it is an unknown and it just one of those life's flukes. Troy was only 4 when he passed away last year (May 2013). You can try to keep them comfortable but eventually the treatment of the symptoms stops working and you may end up having to put the dog to sleep.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Hang in there.
