I agree to ask the vet if he can let you pay in installments. Some will, some will not. If the situation gets more dire, he will have to have the procedures done to find out what is wrong with him. Like I said earlier, if it's a life or death situation and you don't have any other options, you may want to contact some rescues. They can take care of the vetting, rather than having him suffer or worse.
