Welcome to YT.... years back it was stated a dogs life was 7 years to the equivalent of one human year, so a dog at 2 years old was 14 years old in human years. Some where in the mid 90's I read due to advance veterinarian techknowledgey dogs are living longer, so they reduced the years of a dogs life to 5 years for one human year.Making a 2 year old dog 10 years old in human years Now in 2014 veterinarian techknowledgey has advanced in leaps and bounds, it is amazing what treatments are available for our canine buddies, cataract surgery, acupuncture, etc, I have not checked if they again reduced the years of a dogs life compared to a human's. I go by the 5 years to one human year. Maybe one of our members has more information on this. Good question Julie
