P.M. stands for "Private Message", PM'd means that member just sent the other a private message. It's a private way of communicating to just the member(s) of your choice. They get the message and reply, etc. I'll send you one so you can see how it works.
You can look under the heading of "User CP" toward the top left this page, click on it and it will take you to your own "User Control Panel". On the left of the page, under the heading of "Your Control Panel", look down on the left side of the page and find "Private Message" as a heading for your list of, sending, tracking, etc., private message you send or are sent to other members.
