I have been using 7.5" MGT Supreme shears but sometimes I think that it would be easier if I had curved shears for rounding out the paws. What are thinning shears used for, are they necessary for a long coat? I made a little bit of a wrong trim on Chloe's legs and it's been growing back a little choppy, is this when I should use trimming shears?

Was just wondering if spending extra money is necessary or if I can just continue with my straight shears.
