That ice cream recipe sounds like my grandma's....we never made the cinnamon, just vanilla and then we also made peach and strawberry ice cream. It is delicious!! Just add your cooked cream/sugar mixture very slowly to the eggs and they wont scramble! VERY SLOWLY is the operative phrase! WHISK constantly while adding the cream to the eggs!
Years ago, we went to a really super resturant outside of Scottsdale, Az.....Pennicle Peak. It is (was!!) a SUPER steak house if anyone is in the area and has never been....for dessert, they had hot apple pie with cinnamon ice cream! It was to die for!!! I will be saving your recipe for the cinnamon ice cream, to give it a try! The basic custard is the same as my grandma's, and it is great! |
