When I started this mealtime regiment they both lost the weight the vet said they should lose. Hope this helps.

I have a couple that were overweight....this is almost exactly what I did for meal time....I also added swimming in warm water 3 times a week......swimming is great exercise for heavier babies, especially seniors with aging joints, and I always sit in the jacuzzi with them and they really enjoy it! They are also on Glyco-FlexIII for the ones that are bothered with arthritis.

Of course, I also use RC Satiety Support as the kibble in this diet, and canned senior food for a senior that has few teeth left! I use canned lo sodium green beans, the french cut ones. It seemed to me with the green beans cut lengthwise, I was able to give a larger serving than if I just put a couple of whole green beans in their bowl.

I have a real problem seeing anything run around hungry, so it is really a problem for me to keep them on a strict diet, so I have to keep "immediate gratification snacks" available...."snacks" are when we break out the whole green beans, cut cooked carrot slices, cooked sliced squash pieces....I cook them until they are still a little firm.
