I certainly feel your pain if you have had recurring skin infections with staff. My son's yellow lab had the very same thing. She scratched and scratched her skin to the point of many bleeding hot spots. They had to keep doggie tee shirts on her to try to keep her from getting to her spots. She ended up on allergy shots, which proved to be a godsend for her, and she has had clear skin now for over a year. Hopefully you will be able to keep your doggie's skin manageable!
That's great that you already grew it out - you must have a vet who is very "on it", which is awesome. I hope your kiddo gets better w/ the food switch, bc otherwise, how awful for you both!
