Congrats Mark on your new addition! He is a handsome fella. It could be that Sparky doesn't know his name yet, do you know if this was his *actual* name or did the rescue rename him?
I once fostered a dog that had been at the SPCA for six months they had re-named him Vlad, but he did not know his name
Did you get all his vet records from the rescue? If not, give them a call and ask for them.
He must have some sturdy bones under him to weigh 9.5 lbs, as he looks very compact and somewhat *shortish* in the picture they posted. And sturdy bones are a good thing in my mind.
