Default Need Help Please

Hello all,

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I recently purchased a Yorkie in May from the same breeder that I got his brother from. Long story short, I took him to the vet to get neutered and his liver enzymes were very high and the vet would not do the surgery as he said it was too risky. I immediately reached out to the breeder to let her know as there were two other pups in the litter (my cousin purchased one of them). She called her vet, who based on the test results, diagnosed a liver shunt. The breeder seemed genuinely concerned and offered to refund my purchase price for the puppy and that if she took him back, she would probably put him down because she can't afford the surgery. I can't afford the surgery and based off what her vet says, it will be a lifetime of special diet food, IF the surgery works.

I even told her I would reach out to some rescue groups to see if they could assist with the surgery and that maybe we can split the cost of surgery if she took him back. This was over a month ago and I have called/emailed/texted her with no response. The last time we spoke she said that her vet maybe be able to find someone to help with the surgery.

At this point, I am getting a little frustrated. I have been super patient and really believed that she was trustworthy. Does anyone know if there is some kind of recourse I can take? Or if there is a rescue group that would help with the cost of surgery?

thank you
