Smile What to feed my 7 year old Yorkie

Hello everyone, I'm new here, so I hope I'm doing this correctly. I have a Yorkie, 8 lbs... He has been sick (diarrhea and throwing up), I took him to the animal hospital last night as there was blood in his stool. They have sent me home with (2) Antibiotics, Pedialite, a Probiotic and some bland canned food to feed him. He has always eaten Purina Puppy Chow, his regular vet said it was fine for me to keep him on that always. All of his blood work came back on - kidney, liver function, etc... However as in a couple of days when I move him from this bland canned food, I'm wondering if we would be better off with a different food - with not so much food coloring and more natural/healthy? I'm just not sure what to try. Thanks in advance for any input!!
