We have a 9 year old, 8lb. yorkie with arthritis in her hips. We bought Glucosamine and Chondroitin chewable pills from Petsmart.

The doasge in each pill is 500mg of Glucosamine and 400mg of Chondroitin in each tablet.

Per the instructions on the bottle it says that we should give 1/2 tablet per 40lbs of body weight. That means we have to cut each tablet into 1/4. That would equal 125mg of Glucosamine and 100mg of Chondroitin in each yorkie sized dosage.

Has anyone had a vet tell them how many mg a yorkie should have each day?

It would be alot easier to cut the pill in half then 1/4. For now we are following the dosage recommended on the bottle.
