Default Booster seat and Car seat belt

Back in June I bought a booster seat for Sir Cody, it has a clip to attach to pups harness which I use to ensure in case of accident pup is not propelled from the seat, also pup cannot jump out of booster seat. A member posted they use theirs but do not depend on the clip alone and also use their car seat belt, I assumed it is the part the strap gets snapped into. Thinking what an excellent idea that was I started to use mine. Before I had the booster seat I had a kinda short leash with a an attachment that snaps into the car seat belt the other end gets attached to pups harness. I have been using them since they first came out for my other babies to prevent them from dashing out of the car when the door was opened, also prevented them from falling off back seat onto the floor if I had to stop short. This is what I used along with the fastener in the booster seat. Not long after I started using it I saw a symbol on my dash board, WT!!!! is that, I take out the car manual look for this symbol, book states it’s the air bag. Off to my mechanic I go in a panic, tell him something is wrong with my air bag. I have to leave car there. Later that day I get a call from mechanic, he tells me it’s the dog clip attachment. The car computer sensor, senses no weight on passenger seat and the computer disables ALL airbags. I have 6 airbags. Now this could be a good thing if you don’t like the idea of airbags, which in my case I don’t like them, to many ppl I know who had accidents got severely injured from the airbag not the accident it’s self, but the do save lives, so I have stopped using the doggie attachment, and removed it from the seat belt snap in part.. I also have a Chevy Colorado pick up truck that I use this clip on. I have not seen a symbol on my dash board, but stopped by my chevy dealer, spoke to a mechanic to see if by using this dog devise would it deactivate the air bags, I am told no. Truck computer has no seat sensor. I am advising anyone that uses a doggie attachment that gets snapped into your cars seat belt then to the harness of your pups to check with the dealership mechanic to see if it deactivates your airbags. I do not know what the weight has to be for sensor to pick up. My booster seat is raised off the seat, it does not sit on the seat.
