I've seen a few doggie doors around town that lead to an enclosed kennel, (about a 10wx10lx6h chain link structure with a chain link roof). They are usually attached to side walls of a house or garage with a doggie door cut in in wall, not installed in a patio door. I have a friend with one such structure, so that her big dogs have access to go potty outside safely, while she is at work.
I'd be worried with a yorkie that someone would cut the chain link and steal the yorkie, as most thieves routinely carry bolt cutters that would make butter of chain link.
