Late Friday night, I found a worm on Max's little rear end.

After nearly fainting, I washed his back end. Shortly thereafter, he pooped and I saw more worm parts in his stool.
I asked Crystal (Ellie May) if I should take him to the ER. She was probably laughing herself silly, but what do I know?

Worms are gross and scary.
Took Max to the vet in the morning. Good thing I saved the one stool for testing because we have not seen any worms since. They confirmed the tapeworm and gave me a choice of meds. I chose Drontal, a one dose med.
Tapeworms usually come from swallowing fleas, but we have not had any sign of fleas recently. We saw 2 this year, on Teddy. The vet tech suggested Max may have picked it up in bunny droppings or something similar. ewwww
We give Heartgard monthly year round, but that doesn't cover tapeworms.
I forgot to ask: should I have a follow up stool check done to make sure the dewormer worked?
