Is rabies not required by law in your state? If so, you're lucky! While I think getting the rabies shot between 4 months and 6 months IS important, and then a booster a year later, after that I think it's ridiculous that I'm required by law to give my dog the shot every 3 years. The only reason I do it for legality reasons. I don't want to risk my dog being taken away from me or quarantined in case anything were to happen. I'm hoping in the future, it at least gets changed to every 5.

Jackson can be sensitive to vaccines as well. He had a horrible reaction to lepto.

Anywho, I think waiting until 6 months old is fine. Jackson didn't get his rabies shot until about that age. We're law breakers

But, I think the DHP as puppies (I think they do it 3 or 4 times) and then again at one year is very important. I'll continue to do rabies every 3 years as per the law but I don't like it. So other than rabies, Jackson hasn't been vaccinated for anything since he was 1 (minus two bordatella nasal sprays) and he's now 6. I don't believe it to be necessary due to the extensive research that's been done on the topic.
