I considered myself blessed with my girl, but then again, I think I might've done everything right by her. I also got her fairly young but I had two older dogs (granted they didn't know what to do with her at first and just ran away when she got near, lol). I had brought a new toy to rub on the mom and was given a sock that had the mom and litter smell to help her adjust to the new home. I set up my new crate in my room with a large towel to cover it (giving it a more closed den feeling). She took well to that and just went right in and settled. I was careful to schedule her feeding and watering that first night, set up a potty area in front of the crate (closed in so she doesn't roam). I woke every hour or two when she moved to check on her (she just goes potty), made sure she was given nutrical or food etc. and I hold her for a bit when she cries (I believe it was mostly to be let out than missing her momma, as she tries to get out than call out, she was so quiet and sleeping in my arms on the way home from the breeder, occasionally waking to look at me or her surroundings ^_^).
Granted it effected my sleep and my work ethics the next day, but I don't regret it

She adjusted beautifully, better than I hoped for. The only time she has seriously cried in the first month was when she was being locked in her pen or have tried doing something she shouldn't when we aren't looking X_x... granted since we've spoiled her, she's either very sensitive or acts/gets upset when she doesn't get her way.
