A Poem to Annoying Teddy Dear Teddy,
All I want to do is study
To get my doctoral degree
I make time to succeed
But you keep bothering me
I open a book to read
You crawl in my lap to lay
I place you, again, upon the floor
But you won’t go away
I beg you to go elsewhere to lie down
So I can finish one last page
Instead, you race up and down the stairs
Making me stress and age
I give up studying, angrily
Resenting what you’ve made me do
Yet, you grab a toy, butt in air
Expecting me to play with you
Then I smile and I give in
Because your tail wags in delight
At the mere thought of having me
Present and in sight
I vow tomorrow will be different
I’ll ignore your incessant call
But I know it’ll be the same
And I’ll gladly relive it all.
