He may be eating so fast that he is swallowing a lot of air. Bubba eats so fast that he usually gives out a big burp afterward. There are special bowls that cause them to eat slower and if I remember correctly,I someone suggested putting a ball in their bowl so they had to work around it.
If fast eating is not the problem, I would consult the vet.
