izzy's aren't quick and over. Once she starts that honking sound it continues until i touch her chest and calm her down. She calms down instantly. I've never allowed it to go on for more than however many seconds it took me to get to her. but she does it when she's excited mostly . it's gotten better since i switched her to the easy walk harness cause that doesn't go anywhere near her throat.
The vet pushed in on a certain spot on her and she made that noise consistently whenever he did that. That's when he said that usually means they have the beginning signs of it. He also said she would most likely be alright as long as I was conscious of it and prevented any further damage for the most part, like not using harnesses with a high strap or cloths that could pull too tight on her neck, etc... She's been doing it considerably less since I switched harnessess so far |
