When they are teething, they are just more run down. Lol, don't you remember the feeling of a tooth breaking through the skin? It hurts. I know human children are susceptible to a lot more infections when they are teething. Anything that throws them off their game a little will cause them to have accidents. I've read so many cases of 8 months old who were trained and had accidents after neutering. I think if you can get 90% accuracy with housebreaking the first year, your doing good.
Joey's breeder told me to praise the success and ignore the accidents. This is good advice, because if you "punish" the accidents, it will cause other problems, everything from aggression, and hiding poop to eating poop, they want to destroy the evidence. At least she's not peeing inside, that's really unusual at that age, don't punish for mistakes for that either as it can cause submissive peeing. She's doing great!
