 Yorkie with CHF
Hi, my Pluto is 8 years old and has had so many health problems he started out with a collapsing trachea which we managed then at 2yrs old had a CFE (stroke) and is partially paralyzed right side but has conquered that he gets around and plays well. About 2 years ago we had surgery for bladder stones. About 8 weeks ago I thought he had a cold he sounded congested and could not breathe well so we took him in and vet thought same thing gave some meds and a few days later was worse so we did the xray. Showed enlarged heart pushing trachea upward, enlarged liver and bladder stones again, and some issues with back due to his compensating for leg that does not work. They diagnosed heart failure with CHF and put on the lasix, enalapril and vetmedin within a couple of days he was doing much better . Then this past Tuesday night he woke me up crying about Midnight in pain I noticed he had a knot felt soft and moves on his right side and right in front of left hip area. Took in to vet and they thought it was muscles maybe from back or lasix gave injection of muscle relaxer and anti inflammatory sent some home with me. He is still not right vet is kind of dismissive called his other vet and they looked at records and acted same way. He still seems to be feeling bad and is very agitated. Does anyone have any experience with this or any advice? Thanks. |
