I will see if this works on him, Cody's behavior is a safety issue for him, like you say, what if his behavior around larger dogs, puts that dog into attack mode and comes after little boy. My Cody could be killed, reason we are in this training session. I hope this will work for my boy. Thanks for being so considerate and posting your canine stun gun. |
YES, that is what made me the most upset about Beanie's behavior. She did not give a crap how big or vicious the dog was, she would do her Tasmanian Devil thing. And it was not aggression in the form that she wanted to attack the dog, she just wanted to be near a dog and play. But she just would get so excited that it turned into her appearing to be "aggressive".
Yes, there were times that she actually was "protecting" me, like the time we were walking around a pond in a different town and a jogger with a HUGE pitbull came running towards us. All my little 6 lb. dog saw was a dog racing towards me and she went effing NUTS, I mean nuts. Thank God, the jogger actually had control of his dog because the freaking pit bull lunged at her with his mouth open. I thought I was going to die, but as I said, the guy was strong enough to pull his dog away from my dog's head.
But MY dog incited the aggression in the pit bull and it just reacted to her, protecting it's owner. This happened when she was just starting to go crazy at dogs. It got worse and worse from there.
I walked her last night after work and there were tons of trick or treaters, kids AND grown ups in costumes walking all over my area. Of course, Beanie being a Yorkie and curious about EVERYTHING, got totally wound up about all this going on. A guy was walking 2 greyhounds and she started to do her "thing" again. Thank God, I had taken the doggie stun gun with me, anticipating her anxiety level would go up. Anyway, I used it and she immediately stopped. I did feel bad though because we were really close to the 2 dogs. I didn't see them coming as we were turning a corner otherwise I would have walked across the street far enough away from them so that it wouldn't affect then when I used it. But I had no choice because they were right on top of us and she started to go nuts. I decided that it was more important to stop HER than worry about the other 2 dogs.
Anyway, I hope it works for you!
