He had a hard life you have to be patient. If he has to go potty then you need to take him potty. It's like training a puppy. Putting him alone in another room is just not fair or right after all he has been through. I'm sure after awhile he will get more used to things. When he makes noise take him potty and then just put him in his crate and soon he will learn noise at night just gets him taken for a potty break not play.
