When you have her spayed at around 7 months or so, any retained baby teeth should absolutely be removed then. I assume you have her as a pet and not for breeding? Never ever breed her as she will throw undershot and it will follow into the next generations. And you are right, the breeder never should have used that male if he was undershot, bite is so hereditary either over or undershot. I also have learned that if a undershot eventually corrects in an older puppy say over 6 months or so, it will throw undershot despite what a breeder claims about bites correcting. Got undershot in the line, you will produce it.
It is one of the lesser problems that can come up as far as health wise but it is not desirable in the breed. Shih Tzus and Lhasas, Bulldogs are a different story but in YOrkies other than correct scissor bite or even bite is acceptable, I would not mess with under or overshot in a breeding program. |
