Hi, I live in Duncan, BC. Planning a move to Alberta. We bought a Yorkie from a breeder on Vancouver Island. He is 18 months old now. We love him to pieces.
I noticed him squinting, took him to the Vet right away. Seems he has Canine Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS). He had surgery. They sutured his third eyelid to cover his eye to heal. He is on multiple eye drops and he will be for life.
The Vet said it is hereditary. Should I tell the breeder that her breeding lines may have a problem? I was so devastated for the little guy. Sonja
