There's bells made specifically for this at most pet stores/supplier. It's a long rope/ribbon that hangs over the door or near it with a bell at the bottom end. The bell is rung everytime you take them to potty and you might say something like "let's go potty" or whatnot if you choose. After a bit you take their paws and have them ring the bell everytime (keep the bell to where they can get to it). Eventually one way or another they'll usually get that ringing the bell is potty time or they just want to go outside ^^;
