In the olden days we did feed our dog chicken bones, I'm amazed nothing ever happened. If he's still going poop and not vomiting in a couple of days, your home free, otherwise it could be an obstruction, bones don't dissolve like other foods. Like Ann said, raw chicken bones are okay, they aren't as likely to cause a problem and splinter. It's best to keep the trash always covered or in a cabinet, they are pretty resourceful.
