Get ahold of this asap, the longer they go on like this the harder it will be to get them out of these habits, trust me, I'm taking mine to obedience now,i wish i wouldn't have given them so much control fr the start, yorkies can be so stubborn and sometimes its easier to give into them,If you can start watching him like a hawk and correct him as soon as you see him biting cords, i was lucky first few times mine did that i said unh nah unh No! Really loudly and firm and it stopped, unplug things you barley use that way itll be easier to keep track of what hes chewing, buy baby safety plugs for the open sockets, give him toys to occupy him , squirrels in a tree stump, Kong's with treats in them etc, if your unable to walk him daily, perhaps there is someone who can for you? Get him socialized, bring people and other dogs to visit if he is uncomfortable with this dont sook him or let him sit on your lap, you need to be in control ,get him to sitt beside you in his leash and harness,as soon as he starts to wiggle say no, make him sit again, push his bum down if he wont, then praise him when he dose it, give him a treat, practice this daily especially when there are people or other dogs around him, tthen he'll learn when you tell him to sit beside you , even when your watching tv make him sit beside you as you hold his harness, he starts to wiggle you make him sit,he has to, then next time your outside and you see distractions you get him to sit , , my yorkie was social when he was little but as he got older he became like yours, its going to be alot of work and you have to be persistent, when my dog sees people i now get him to sit beside me ,and he knows he cant move, so he no longer trys to run off and bite ankles. Get him some bullwrinkles when he wants a chew , theyre great! I know exactly how your feeling, i hope at least something i wrote here might help, im still working on undoing how much ivle let them have control and own my life and house aha, its a work in progress and will take lots of time and patience, |
