It really does sound kinda serious....I would also recommend taking him to his vet...see if they will work out a payment plan with you or apply for care credit if it's available in your area. Trust me I understand the vet costs....we have spent way more money on Winnie in the few months we have had her than I think we have spent on our older dogs their whole life! That's an exaggeration but we have spent a lot on her from emergency visits and medications etc. He could have swallowed something and have a blockage or have terrible gas which is very painful for them or it could be something completely different like a neurological problem or an injury. There is not a way to tell without taking him to a vet. The only thing that's obvious is that there's something wrong by the symptoms your describing that need to be evaluated by a vet....he is showing you something is wrong....please vet him asap
