Diet may influence crystal formation, but there can be other factors. If the crystals were not detected on the second test, it may have just been a matter of when the first sample was taken.
The pimple like thing, I would not blame the food. Max has had a couple in his six years. Sebaceous cysts are fairly common and have many causes.
