Just got home from a long, harrowing day trying to get an eye-doctor's note so I can get my license renewed(failed my eye exam at the TX DOT last week due to my blind right eye not being able to see the far right column of letters!), discovered the doctor's appointment was actually for
next Tuesday when I got there but they kindly agreed to work me in this Thursday so I won't have to go so long on an expired driver's license, which expires this midnight! Ugh!
Before I left for the doctor's office, an insurance estimator came out to check out my truck from a fender-bender I had the first part of the month when a guy backed out of his parking space into my truck while I was moving forward in the parking lot traffic lane, after which his wife jumped out of their Lincoln and chewed me out for "hitting" them! This from the woman with the guy who just ruined his rear bumper on the left side of my truck! I was sure my truck was creamed from the awful crashing/crunching noise when we collided but thankfully it seems only the hubcap is scratched and the estimator found a little ding in the paint on the edge of the wheel well. The other driver had also accused me of being at fault soon after his wife did and for a while, husband and wife were both going at me for "running into our car", though the guy later apologized for his wife getting really ugly. Don't people know the law?!? A driver in a parking spot is always required to yield right of way to traffic moving in the traffic lane of a parking lot before backing out!
Anyway, his insurance has assumed liability but I wanted to have my own auto insurance give me an estimate first and they did that this morning. While the estimator was here, she advised me not to use the body shop the driver's insurance company had already set me up to use, rental car to be ready there, saying they are slow and have a lot of complaints! So I had to call and cancel the repair reservations that were all set up before going to the doctor's appointment that wasn't! After leaving the doctor's office, unable to get my D. L. renewed today as I'd thought I would be doing, I then went to have my truck washed again and re-cleaned inside, carpets, etc., from the apple cider spill of last week, which took almost 1 1/2 hours! I then had to stop by the grocery store to pick up some things and finally made it home - the inside of my truck still smelling some of vinegar from the shampooing. I knew to expect this but still felt it needed a professional deep clean but still, I wonder when that truck will ever stop smelling of vinegar!
It's been "one of those days", when all you want to do is collapse on the den couch with your Yorkie but I had to check in on my favorite ladies and pups and find out what you all are up to first and what a delight to see this thread! I read every one of your posts with the first real smile on my face I've had all day. You've made a pretty frustrating day into a special one with your sweet messages.
