some changes.... So here's our update. Noni had a name change. (Dh said we use "no" to much to name him Noni) his name is Bruiser. Yay!
The chihuahua we fostered for about two weeks has a forever home with a stay at home dad. We keep regular tabs on her.
I'm back to work, and Bruiser sometimes comes with me, but more than that he will stay home and hang out in his Xpen. We have established a routine. He knows if the automatic coffee maker is brewing he is about to go for his morning walk. About the time I smell coffee, is about the time I hear him fusing. He is definitely not a fan of the harness and adamantly refuses to walk on a leash when attached to the harness. (Uhg). Potty training is up and down. Ever since the harness catastrophe, he refuses to poop outside. Matter of fact, I think the only time he has peed outside in the past two days is accidentally. However, he has a potty pad in his Xpen that he will go to while we are inside. (So long as the door is open, my daughter has a habit of just picking him up over the top of the pen instead of just opening the door). He's been to the vet twice, last check, 1lb 15oz. about a week ago. Doc says that even though sire and dam were 6 lbs each, she's guessing he's only going to be about 4 and a half. He gains about an ounce a week. :-( we started on top knot training today. Again not a fan. (tips appreciated?) He just made 11 weeks, and is our very loved and spoiled fur baby!
PS. "Breeder" mother passed last week from cancer. Sire and dam have been sent to live at different forever homes with the hospice gals that were taking care of her. All puppies have been sold and dam is getting fixed. I still have the registry paperwork. I didn't send it off because I was waiting to see if his white chest patch disappeared. Does anyone know if this is going to be an issue know that the original owner had passed?
