We are in the process of getting back our alpha role ourselves due to bad training on our part. He is fully obedience trained but still sometimes just doesn't seem to listen! Is he being mean or is he playing? His tail wags sometimes but I heard that just because their tail wags doesn't mean they are happy! It does wag rather stiffly sometimes. Anybody else with this problem? Will they ever really get along happily or are they doing okay? Please help me to help my babies! |
I'm not an expert, but sounds like playing to me. When I brought my second pup into the house they would "fight" like crazy. They still play fight, but not nearly as much. Lexi is a growler when they play. When it gets loud I will correct her because honestly it gets annoying. My other pup is a barker when playing. I also correct that when it gets annoying. It seems to be worse when one is chasing the other. I was worried in the beginning because sometimes it looked like Lexi was attacking the new pup, but the new pup always wanted to play so I knew he was okay. Things settled down after about a month.
