I also cooked a pork tenderloin recently and found it to be quite lean. They say that today's pork is 33% less fat than it was several years ago. I think the saying pork is the "other white meat" refers to the lower fat, as it does in chicken.
Of course it depends on the cut, tenderloin is lean, whereas pork shoulder is loaded with fat.
