How did you find this breeder....on Craigslist, or from the YTCA? If they were selling the dog without breeding rights because of something with the teeth....if the teeth were perfect, would they sell it with breeding rights? That seems a little odd to me. The breeder should sell with a Limited AKC Registration, which means that the dog is registered, but if the dog has litters, they won't be registered. She should be able to show you proof of registration, pup and parents. She should also have a Spay/Neuter contract if she sells the pup as pet only. She should also have a health guarantee, in case anything pops up, and if you are no longer able to take care of the dog, she should be willing to take the pup back.
Do you mind sharing the name/location of this breeder? We could help you determine whether or not the breeder is good.
