I am in the same situation, adopted 3 y/o with extreme aggressive behavior. For his safety we are enrolled in obedience training. My trainer has one other dog in the training session. At this point Cody could never be in the same room with more then one dog. Before my signing up for training session they evaluated Cody, saw how he behaved and determined he should be trained with just one dog. Good luck.
