Not sure what you mean "from a loving home than from a bad breeder". Lots of bad breeders have loving homes, they just don't know how to breed a healthy puppy. You should always get an AKC pup, even if you don't wish to breed, most of us here are not breeders. The reason to buy an AKC pup is that the breeder had breeding rights if the pup is allowed to be registered with the AKC. It not enough that the breeding dogs were registered, you have to be able to register your pup, otherwise it means that the breeder did not have breeding rights and it could mean that whoever sold the breeding dogs decided that the dogs should not be bred, and it could have been for health reasons. There is protection out there, but only if you are careful.
