Is his coat a little more cottony? Or is it puppy coat? Teddy's coat was more prone to tangling when he was younger. He is very silky when perfectly combed, but definitely tangles, unlike Max.
For Teddy, I find it is best if I keep his coat as clean as possible and not to use spray conditioners. I detangle before his bath with Pet Silk silk serum. Then I use a really good conditioner in the bath.
