I'm so glad you went to the vet, you may have saved his life. Dehydration is so serious, and it can happen so suddenly. Make sure there are no insecticide or mouse traps he could have gotten into. One time we put some moth balls in some rafters over a patio to discourage spiders. My two dogs like to lie on the terrace above occasionally. One day, one started vomiting a tiny amount and then the other did and I knew it was either their food or both of them were getting into something. Anyway, we took away the moth balls and no more vomiting.
