I am in favor of free feeding when they are very young, although I know certain circumstances make that hard. But when they are little, they can only eat a little at a time, so to me it makes sense to have food available often so will get enough to develop and grow.
My girls all started out with free feeding, and after the first year, they pretty much ate a measured amount twice a day, with an occasional treat midday.
It does seem that your pup might need a little more food before bedtime, maybe even a snack. Going from 3pm to 7am is 16 hrs and maybe too long between feedings. |
