So excited!!! So, I have had the honor of being selected to create memory quilts for the families of a fallen firefighter and several line of duty officers. The firefighter quilts won't be presented until February 2015, near the 1 year anniversary of that death, but the officers quilts will be presented as I get them finished.
In September, there were 3 officer deaths with young families. One in Rochester, NY, a sheriff deputy in South Carolina, and a state trooper in Pennsylvania. I have the quilt almost completed for the Rochester office, Darryl Pierson. I will be flying to Rochester on Saturday, November 15th and staying until Monday the 17th and personally presenting the quilt to his widow, young son and infant daughter.
The best part of going to New York ( besides Niagra Falla and going to a state that I've never been to) is that Lynzy is going to finally get to meet me!! She will be close enough to where I will be that we can meet up! It's no Europe, but it will have to hold us over for a little while.
Can't wait to meet Lynzy. And see New York.
