Default What a Day! What is it with People?

Yesterday morning Pippin and I were in the back yard doing yard work. Well, I was working, she was poking her nose through the lattice fence that borders the alley watching for her friends. I see her tail start to wag and her whole body shake like she is seeing someone she know. Well this teenager has a husky and just let him run up the the gate where Pippin is, snarling and snapping at her. He says, "Oh, sorry" and off he goes smoking a joint and walking his dog...Jeez!

In the afternoon we are just walking enjoying the sunshine and crossing the street when this mastiff comes galloping up behind me, pushed me out of the way to get to Pippin. He must have been 80 lbs and just wanted her. She is screeching and I'm trying to push him away and get to her to pick her up...all in the middle of the street. The owner comes running down the street in her clicky heels...oh so sorry, he got away from me. Really???? I just glared at her. I told her if you are going to walk an 80lb dog, hold him with two hands....and wear sensible shoes. (I didn't tell her that part, but boy I wanted to!) Why can't these people control their dogs. Thank goodness he wasn't mean, just wanted to get to her, but he could have really hurt her.

Poor Pippin who loves every dog, every person, and every walk, just tucked her tail in for the rest of the walk...I was shaking the whole way home. But I took the long way for us both to calm down and we did meet up with friendlier dogs so she wouldn't be afraid of them.

Really???? I'm so tired of people not controlling their dogs.

Thanks for letting me vent,
