Yes, Lilly needs some time to adjust, and he's probably going to try to drive her nuts. Let her handle the situation, and unless you think he's actually in danger, do not interfere, but allow her to behave as mother dog would. Don't forget, his teeth are very sharp and he's going to try and nurse her and she should be allowed to tell him "NO". Once she knows she's still the boss, and he learns he has to mind her, they will get along better.
