I am rather fond of a brand of detangler called cowboy magic. I suppose it's for horses but I'm not so sure- I use it on my own hair and honestly can't beleive I lived without it! It is my go to with lilah as well, before grooming I rub her whole coat down with it and re apply in more tangly areas (like if I put her in a t shirt and forget I've sworn them off because this one is really cute) and it works very well. We use our madden pin brush from topline pet and then follow up with a metal straight comb. If I didn't follow up with the comb the more tangly tangles wouldn't come out. I read somewhere on here someone say they cut in an upward direction when they found a mat or notable tangle and that that helped them brush out what they could- I liked this idea and plan to employ it if necessary in the future. Good luck!
