I don't think the cost of the surgery is crazy as my vet is one that does not charge over 1000 for a lp surgery and it's not because he is a bad vet it's because he has 4 other locations and he is also a repro vet so he can afford to lower his costs. In fact a friend of mine had LP surgery done on one of her pups and her total costs including medications and bloodwork prior to the surgery was only 800. |
We don't think it's ok when someone has an accidental breeding and you will see that in most posts about it but if a dog is in great danger helping the poster is more important at that time. LP surgery should never be done by a regular vet period it should be done by an orthopedic surgeon so maybe that's why it's cheaper but certainly is not the right thing and in my opinion a good vet will refer you to a specialist when it is nessisary like for LP surgery. I have heard many many times of people getting LP surgery done by a regular vet and then having to go to an orthopedic surgeon anyway to fix it because the vet did it wrong. Again let me clear this up for you I said IF she continues to breed that male with LP she is not a good breeder. It's also just my opinion it dosent make it a fact and last time I checked we were allowed to have opinions on this board. You don't have to like it but it is mine you can also have your own.
