Default Blood loss

While at work, my 7 month old puppy who weighs 2lbs has chewed/licked his paw until it bled-bad! By the time I got home, it had stopped bleeding but there was blood all over carpet. I washed the wound and wrapped it in gauze/tape. He has eaten and drank water since the incident but he's very tired/lethargic and only wants to sleep. I called vet and they said since he's no longer bleeding that he is okay and can just come in tomorrow. Is this normal since there was blood loss? I just want to make sure I shouldn't bring him into emergency tonight. Or if it's even worth going to vet tomorrow. I've attached an image to show how much blood he's lost. Again he only weighs two pounds! I'm a concerned mom!

Also, what could cause paw chewing? It is only his back left paw he's focused on.

P.S It's only a tiny spot that looks like the paw is skinned. I don't know how it bled so much.
