Cute story! Dogs look to us to solve their problems all the time and usually think it's our fault when something goes wrong with their "stuff". Tibbe usually gives me stinkeye when his things don't work!
Oh, yes, I have bought back-ups for toys I thought Tibbe would like as losing one under the hutch or somewhere in the house used to lead to hours of terrier-like, never-stop searching until it would drive me wild. At least there is a chance that a replacement would divert him for a time, especially if I'd kept them together so the scent was basically the same on each of them. But he stopped his never-say-die type searching a year or so ago.
Hope one of those squeakers can't get outside of its chicken!
